In general, I would say that they visual training program has been positive. I hope that the visual skills I have learned are sustainable over time even after the visual training visits end. I think that an important part of the experience is that students become more aware of their eyes and how to control them. The training highlights my visual deficiencies and I became more aware of them. The student may also become more aware, as I did, of all the functions your eyes must do. I think that I have better eye control now than when I started. I also have a better idea of what correct control should be. The successful student should at least take with them some methods of correcting or working with the deficiency.

At times I found the visual training challenging. It takes regular daily dedication. The prism work, vectograms, and brock string were a challenge. These exercises also served another purpose. They allowed me to see some measurable improvements in my eye control. At times, progress was slow and frustrating. Knowing that I was at least improving helped me to stay on track.

I appreciate the opportunity to work with Dr. Harris and Liz. Dr. Harris is very knowledgeable in the vision field. His manners and professionalism are well received. I would say that he is one of the best and he enjoys what he does. Liz is a terrific therapist. She enjoys working with others and I looked forward to my training sessions. She listened and provided suggestions on how I could try to improve my eye control. Liz was always organized. She did a good job of explaining and monitoring the exercises.

The visual training program was structured. It was evident that much time is taken to develop the many training exercises. Dr. Harris and his team push to keep students on track and attending each week. I think this is good. Otherwise, a student’s progress may be too slow and the value of the training decreased.

While I still have some headaches, as of this writing, I can say that they are less than they were a year ago. I did learn more about my eyes and how to control them. I hope that my one month and six month exams are also positive. I recommend Dr. Harris and his visual training team to others that may also have visual challenges.
